Niveles de estrés, ansiedad y depresión en población con hipertensión arterial

Las enfermedades de larga duración, incluida la hipertensión arterial (HTA) se asocian con una prevalencia variable de trastornos de salud mental, a causa de las restricciones que generan en la vida cotidiana, la incertidumbre acerca del futuro, el aislamiento social y el sentimiento de culpa. El objetivo del artículo es conocer la prevalencia de depresión, estrés y ansiedad entre los adultos con diagnóstico de HTA primaria; así como los factores asociados con estos trastornos del estado de ánimo. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de publicaciones de bases de datos especializadas como APA PsycNet, Pubmed y Cochrane Library. Se utilizaron términos Mesh y operadores booleanos. Se incluyeron publicaciones de 2019 a 2024, observacionales, con pacientes adultos (edad ≥ 18 años), con HTA primaria. Se extrajeron los datos de trazabilidad de los artículos: autor/es, año, país, DOI. Se evaluó la calidad de los artículos utilizando la lista de chequeos STROBE para investigaciones observacionales. Se incluyeron 11 artículos. La depresión fue evaluada en 9, la ansiedad en 5 y el estrés en dos. La depresión tuvo una prevalencia desde 5,2% - 64,1%. La ansiedad, de 25% - 100%, mientras que el estrés psicológico fue del 60% - 71,5%. Los factores relacionados con estos trastornos fueron el sexo femenino, estado civil, comorbilidades, no tener empleo, bajo nivel socioeconómico y educativo. La relación entre HTA y estos trastornos parece ser bidireccional. Con una relación bidireccional, la población adulta con HTA primaria experimenta una prevalencia variable de depresión, ansiedad y estrés. Es preciso profundizar en el estudio de esta relación.
