Child and adolescent sexual exploitation is a phenomenon that generates negative consequences at the social, community, family and individual level. The effects generated can cause damage to the social dynamics and personality of minor victims of this abuse. Addressing this deviant behavior, to minimize its impacts, must be carried out from an interdisciplinary perspective, with public policies, the legal framework and mental health playing a determining role. The protection of the rights of minors is an eminently social task and legal regulations are responsible for this. The symptoms presented by the victims must be analyzed to allow better diagnosis and treatment. The objective is to describe child and adolescent sexual exploitation based on the criteria of jurisprudence and psychology, contributing to the interdisciplinary understanding of this harmful social phenomenon. The methodological design that will be used is qualitative, using analysis and synthesis as methods. The results point to the prevalence of post-traumatic symptoms and the importance of updating the legal framework related to the current characteristics of this crime.
