Addictions are complex disorders that affect mental health and require effective tools for psychopathological assessment. The Brief Symptom List (LSB-50) is an instrument designed to evaluate psychological and psychosomatic symptoms in the Madrid context. The present study aimed to validate the LSB-50 for use in the management of addictions at the Psychiatric Hospital of Havana. In a first qualitative phase, through interviews with experts and the Delphi method, the content and construct of the instrument were validated. In a second quantitative phase, a pilot test was conducted with 27 patients, assessing the clarity and reliability of the instrument, which demonstrated remarkable internal consistency, supported by a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0,89. The results suggest that the LSB-50 is useful for identifying psychological and psychosomatic symptoms in patients with addictions, enhancing therapeutic intervention due to its content validity, construct validity, and reliability.
