University of the air: space of education and culture

Abstract

The culture plays a decisive paper in the conformation of the identity and education of the towns. In the constituent process of the Cuban nation it has been appreciated, the necessity of a culture seen as a production and a collective construction, in which tangible factors are conjugated or not. The Republic, complex stage of our history, was also a period of rich debate around the capacity of the culture like indispensable tool to consolidate the Cuban Nation. In this stage a denominated project arises the University of the Air that became favorable space to rescue the historical legacy of the Cuban town and to educate him from the civic and cultural perspective. One of the approached essential elements was the defense of the culture like element intimately associated to that of the political recovery. It was also insisted in the necessity of combatting the ignorance, of educating for the democratic exercise and of teaching civic values. It was incentivated the patriotism and the responsibility of each civic one and in particular of the new generations, in the defense of the values, the culture and history of their country. In essence it intended to consolidate the nation from the culture and from the most genuine in the History of Cuba.
