Comparative reflections on musical education from pedagogy in Mexico: when classical music and popular music disencounter

The present work carries out a socio-historical journey on the teaching of music in Mexico, through a comparative approach analysis between classical music and traditional music, based on a bibliographic review, makes a differentiation between both genres in such a way that make visible the critical positioning of the teaching of one genre over another. It also takes up the Mexican educational policies that involve music teaching and problematizes its inclusion in real teaching within the educational system.
