Biosecurity for fruit fly management (Diptera: Tephritidae)

This work seeks to present biosecurity strategies applied to fruit fly management, in the hope of serving as a tool or source of consultation for students, technicians and professionals in the agricultural field interested in the subject. The methodology used includes bibliographical research, analysis and classification of information on biosafety measures for the management of fruit flies. The main biosafety measures applied are legal, with strict controls being carried out at entry points for plant products, using as a basis international standards and other documents that underpin international trade, then there is monitoring and chemical control, little work has been done on biological control, and recently has used autocidal control for the management of C. capitata. The application of biosecurity measures allows maintaining the phytosanitary status for the fruit to enter international markets.
