The practical assessment of improvement strategies allows for the identification of strengths and areas for improvement to ensure interventions tailored to specific professional contexts. For this reason, the present research was carried out with the objective of describing the practical assessment of an improvement strategy for the family doctor regarding the prescription of physical exercise. It consisted of an exploratory and descriptive study with a minimal control cycle, without using a control group, conducted at the "Area Este" Polyclinic in Camagüey, during the months of March and April 2026. From a universe of 25 specialists in General Integral Medicine, a sample of 12 was worked with, who met the selection criteria. There was a significant variation, since the three dimensions were evaluated as good, as well as the performance, given by the evaluation of the instrument in general. It is concluded that the practical assessment of the strategy was effective, since the pre-experiment showed improvements in knowledge and skills, reflected in better performance. In this sense, the validation of the strategy proves to be a useful tool to strengthen competencies and promote healthy practices in primary health care.
