Abstract

Teaching Nursing Research Methodology faces challenges related to the understanding of abstract concepts, scientific writing, and project formulation. Given this reality, generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), such as ChatGPT, emerges as an innovative teaching tool that can strengthen students' research skills, provided its use is guided, ethical, and critical. This article explores the impact and potential of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), with an emphasis on tools such as ChatGPT, in the study of Research Methodology among nursing students at Higher Technological Institutes. Based on a review of recent background information in Ecuador, Latin America, the United States, and Europe, the article identifies trends, challenges, and opportunities in incorporating these technologies into educational contexts. Furthermore, an innovative methodological alternative is proposed for use in research methodology classes, with the aim of enhancing the research culture and understanding of future nursing professionals.
