Social networks have transformed the way adolescents interact, build their identity, and regulate their emotions. This research article analyzes the effects of social networks on the socio-emotional development of students at the General Secondary School "Juan Guillermo Villasana López," located in Zapotlán de Juárez, Hidalgo, and seeks to demonstrate how access to these networks is related to socio-emotional development at this stage of life for students at this educational level, based on a segment of the educational population such as the third "B" group. Based on data collected about access to electronic devices and interaction on digital platforms, different theoretical perspectives on the impact of social networks on this social group are reviewed.
