Open access policy and article processing charges

The Revista Metropolitana de Ciencias Aplicadas (REMCA) provides immediate and free open access to all its content, based on the principle that research results should be available to the academic community and society, thereby promoting the exchange and dissemination of scientific knowledge.

REMCA follows a Diamond Open Access model. Readers may freely access, read, and download published content, while authors are not required to make any payments at any stage of the editorial process.

The journal is published and funded by the Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador (UMET), which provides the resources necessary for its operation and editorial sustainability. This institutional funding does not influence or condition the processes of manuscript evaluation, selection, acceptance, or rejection.

The Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador (UMET) and REMCA do not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs). No fees are charged for manuscript submission, peer review, editing, typesetting, or publication, nor are there any other charges associated with the editorial process. The acceptance of a manuscript depends exclusively on compliance with the academic, scientific, ethical, and editorial criteria established by the journal.

Any future changes concerning funding sources, Article Processing Charges, or other editorial fees will be publicly disclosed on the REMCA website and communicated to the relevant information systems, where applicable.
