About the Journal

The Revista Metropolitana de Ciencias Aplicadas (REMCA) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary scientific journal dedicated to disseminating original, innovative, and applied knowledge derived from research, development, and innovations conducted at the Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador and other higher education institutions, both nationally and internationally. Its mission is to share scientific results that contribute to academic, technological, educational, legal, economic, and social advancement, promoting the integration of knowledge and academic dialogue across diverse disciplines.

The journal aims to publish research that addresses contemporary challenges from both theoretical and applied perspectives, prioritizing studies with methodological rigor, scientific relevance, originality, and significant contribution to knowledge development. All submitted articles must be original, unpublished, and not under review in other publications. Authors are expected to comply with international ethical standards, including the declaration of conflicts of interest and adherence to research integrity guidelines.

REMCA covers multiple areas of knowledge, including educational sciences, legal sciences, economics and administration, accounting, applied information and communication technologies (ICT), social sciences, engineering, humanities, and agricultural sciences, with particular interest in interdisciplinary research that provides practical and applicable solutions to social, educational, technological, and productive challenges.

The journal publishes research articles, systematic reviews, case studies, and academic essays, targeting researchers, educators, professionals, and undergraduate and graduate students. Its scope is international, encouraging contributions from authors across diverse geographic and academic contexts. Articles may be submitted in Spanish or English to increase visibility and impact in the global scientific community.

REMCA is published bimonthly during the following periods: January (January–February), March (March–April), May (May–June), September (September–October), and November (November–December), with each issue distributed between the 1st and 10th day of the corresponding period.

All submitted articles undergo an open peer review process, ensuring transparency, scientific quality, and adherence to ethical standards. The journal operates under an open access model, providing free and immediate access to all content, with no costs for authors or readers, promoting global knowledge dissemination and the democratization of scientific research. No article processing or publication fees (APC) are applied.

The journal is funded by the Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador, Machala campus, ensuring its sustainability while preserving editorial independence. Through this approach, REMCA seeks to establish itself as a regional and international academic reference, promoting the generation, exchange, and application of scientific knowledge, contributing to sustainable development, innovation, and the strengthening of the global scientific community.
